Kometan (English: Cometan) is the spelling of the name of the founder of Astronism used in both the Spanish, Japanese and German languages. This spelling is used throughout all public marketing and advertising for the Cometan brand in the Hispanosphere, in Japan, and in German-speaking countries.

The primary reason for the difference in spelling of the name for the Spanish-speaking world is due to the fact that the English spelling, Cometan, is known as a third person plural for the verb 'cometer'. It was decided that for marketing and clarity reasons that in the Spanish language, Cometan's name would be spelt with a 'K' across all public campaigns, website, and other materials. For this reason, Kometan.com was created to represent Cometan in Spanish-speaking countries and a new brand was also created to reflect this marketing decision.
